Hand-built trails
Single-track trails, built by hand and designed with preservation in mind.
Hand-built Trails
what it is
Many of our clients own more land than they have ever truly walked: wooded acreage, hillsides, quiet corners of a property that are easy to own and hard to reach. We design and build single-track trails, by hand, that change that.
The result is a subtle trail system for hiking, biking, bird watching, or simply time outdoors. It opens up parts of your property you may not know well, with fresh air, open views, and quiet time among the trees and wildlife that are already yours.

Hand-built Trails
our approach
Every trail is hand-scratched. No heavy equipment, no disturbed live trees or growth, no cleared canopy.
Each path is designed to work with the land as it stands, so the places you love stay the way you love them.

How We Work
OUR trail-building PROCESS
1
Site visit and analysis
We walk the property and study the topography. We learn how much trail you would like and which areas you want access to.
.
2
Flag the lines
We mark the best trail lines the land allows.
3
Review and fine-tune
We walk and video the flagged route, or walk it with you in person, until the
line is right
4
Scratch it in
Once the route is approved, we build the trail by hand.
5
Monitor and maintain
We keep the trail clear, safe, and true to its original design over time.
Hand-built Trails
When it happens
We plan through the winter and build in winter and early spring. We stay out of the woods in the peak of
summer, when wildlife is most active and plant growth is at its fullest.

Hand-built Trails
availability
This is hands-on work, and we take on a limited number of trail projects each year. We only accept what we can complete at the level of quality our clients expect.
